The value you have is not given to you by other people
or the materials you have acquired. God gives you value, and your job is to
recognize that he appreciates you as the most precious stone in the world.
Many times the enemy makes us stumble and makes us
feel inferior. But that’s just a lie because you never lose your worth before
God, you lose it in your mind.Your life will change the day you see yourself thru the eyes of the creator – who sees you with infinite value.
I invite you to cultivate the beauty that God has
placed in you and not to focus on the traps that the enemy puts. It’s best to
focus on the valued God formed you with, and develop all those beautiful
talents with which he has rewarded you.
Along with that value with which God created you, He
has also assigned you with a specials tasks that only you can complete. If you listen to the voice of the enemy;
those specials tasks won’t be completed. That is why the enemy is determined to
discourage your walk.
You are amazing. Don’t let others make you forget that.
“Get up, shine; for your light has come, and the
glory of the Lord is born on you.” Isaiah 60: 1
It is not selfish to devote time to oneself; in polishing our characters, in learning new things, in growing as individuals and spending time becoming better people. On the contrary, dedicating time for self not only helps you grow but allow those around you to grow as well.
You are valuable because God says you are. Never think otherwise.
Value yourself! You are very special, and you have
many beautiful things to offer.
With God by your side, you will achieve great things.
I’m sure you heard the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman.
Below are the verses I will focus on today’s reflection.
4 Now it was necessary that He go through Samaria. 5 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there. Jesus, therefore, being exhausted from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman of Samaria came there to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water that I shall give him will become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.” 15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not thirst, nor come here to draw.”
John 4:4-15
The story says that the Samaritan woman went to the well by the sixth hour (which is around noon). Visiting a well during this hour was not common because it’s so sunny and hot. Probably, the Samaritan women visited the well during this hour because she felt lonely or didn’t want to hear people’s criticism towards her wrongdoing and mistakes. Therefore, she chose a time where she could be lonely and peacefully extract the water she needed.
Customary, do we tend to isolate ourselves from others when we are feeling empty?
The Samaritan woman had an empty vessel. Do you feel an empty vessel? An empty vessel is feeling discouraged, sad, anxious, lonely, empty, depressed, etc.
Oh! I know the feeling. Frequently we have so many responsibilities that we don’t allow ourselves to rest. We keep on charging forward and get everything done. But we fail to realize that soon we’ll be without gas – empty and unable to keep on going. Other times, we are are so hard on ourselves that we take ourselves into an empty place.
I’m not sure how you got your vessel empty. How did you get to that place: where you feel empty, lonely, judge and where you fail to see God’s blessings? That emptiness that won’t allow you to see the beautiful things around you. Just like the Samaritan Women – the only solution to an empty vessel is Jesus. Here are some recommendations to fill your vessel again:
Go to God in prayer and study the bible. Drink of the water that will never let you thirst again. If you don’t know where to start reading, start with a small book in the bible or read a few verses from a chosen biblical inspirational story.
Don’t isolate yourself: family and true Friends can help you overcome the emptiness. Tell them how you feel.
Rest: It’s important to take that time away from all the responsibilities and rest in God.
Disregard the negative: its Satan job to used things around us to draw us empty.
Have Faith!
Share with others the good news: the things God has done in you and for you.
God forgives you. He is the only one who could judge you, but He doesn’t. When you confess your sins to Him feel assure that he forgives you. Don’t be afraid.
Pray with me:
Oh heavily father, I come to you with an empty vessel. You have given me so much, but I fail to feel satisfied. I recognize that the power to fill my empty vessel can only come from you. Please forgive me for withdrawing myself of doing the things that please you and keeps me close to you. Right from this moment I want to start doing things the right way. However, I need you. Please fill my empty vessel with you. Fill it with joy, gratitude, patience, love, forgiveness, rest, faith and all of your goodness. When Satan tries to tempt me with negative thoughts or feeling of discouragement help me 1) overcome his temptations and 2) be reminded of your love for me. Help me be strong in you and that my vessel never grows empty again. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
I think we need a purpose for everything we do in life.
A reason 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 than our willpower and durable thru any circumstance that we may encounter.
For a while, I have been struggling with trying to reach a healthy weight.
However, it seems that no matter what I try nothing seem to work. Something click in me, I found my Why. And that has made all the difference in accomplishing my goals.
I learned that your fitness is 100% MENTAL. Your body doesn’t go where your mind doesn’t push you.
One day, I remember telling my sisters that I was thinking about giving up;
giving up on myself and my fitness goals. I felt like I tried everything but things didn’t seem to work for me.
My six-year-old daughter, who was quietly playing in her bedroom, must have heard what I said. Suddenly, she came to me and handed me a piece of construction paper. Somehow, she found old pictures of me, when I was younger and healthy. She created a collage for me – I was so shocked and impressed. My six-year-old little girl gave me a message of hope. She took me back in time to show me that I shouldn’t give up but
instead find my Why! ⁇
I am still far from my goal. On the other hand, I’m proud of what I accomplished so far. It’s not so much about the pounds on the scale but about how the small changes have made a difference in how I feel.
It can also be one of the main obstacles in our life.
Fear can destroy our dreams, motivations, and activities.
Every so often, we can experience fear about taking on a new job opportunity, launching a business idea, moving, buying a new house, losing friends and families, or fear of the unknown.
