Things I learned and Do, to regrow my hair.
Hair fall has been a very stressful phenomenon for me. I have run out to the store to get my hands on one of those chemical-rich hair fall treatments and I have also considered looking for products with ingredients that will help with my hair loss problem. I’m guilty of buying it all without seeing any progress. But I realized that with a few positive adjustments in my lifestyle, I have easily come to tackle it.

About Hair Fall
Losing hair every day is perfectly normal. In fact, on average, people lose between 50 to 100 strands per day. Normally, for each hair that is lost, another teeny tiny hair is gained. We all see a few strands of hair on our pillowcases and comb but that does not mean we are experiencing hair fall. However, if you notice visibly thinning hair or end up with big clumps of hair in your hands or drain after a shower, that’s out of the ordinary and might be a reasonable cause for concern and inquiry. Even though it is not considered a disease, it can be quite painful, emotionally, for some people. Let’s be real, we consider our hair to be a big part of our overall personality, and losing it, it’s difficult.
Signs you’re experiencing hair fall and not shedding:
- Bald Spots: This symptom is more prominent in men. Bald spots are circular, but the size varies. Some men may notice a small circular smooth skin on their scalp while others may experience a growing bald spot at the crown of their head.
- Hair Thinning: Both men and women can experience hair thinning, though it is more evident in women. This usually happens as you age. It can also be a side effect of a medication. Women who have PCOS or other hormonal complications also go through a phase of hair thinning.
- Receding Hairline: A receding hairline is rare among women but very common among men. Your hairline will start moving towards the crown as you age. First, it will look M-shaped. If not taken care of, it will take a U-shape.
- Excessive Hair Shedding: It is normal for a human to shed approximately 100 strands of hair. If you are losing more hair than that, you should consider it as a sign of hair fall. You might also see a few hair strands entangled in your fingers every time you run them through your hair.
- Hair is not growing in length at the usual speed
What Causes Hair Loss?
It is difficult to identify the exact cause of hair loss without proper testing. However, there are some common causes:
HEREDITY. This condition is known as androgenetic alopecia and according to the American Hair Loss Association, approximately 95% of men have it. Women may also lose hair because of the same reason.
NUTRIENT DEFICIENCY: Lack of Vitamin C, Vitamin D, B-complex, zinc, and iron is often associated with hair loss. You can get a blood test done to check you are deficient in these nutrients. You should start eating a balanced diet in this case.
LIFESTYLE: A poor sleep schedule and lack of physical activity can increase stress levels. It also disturbs your blood circulation which is not good for hair growth.
Too much use of HARSH CHEMICALS leads to hair fall as well.
Regularly TYING YOUR HAIR TIGHTLY, your hairline will eventually start pulling towards the crown.
HORMONAL IMBALANCE is another cause of hair fall. Increased stress levels, thyroid issues, and PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) can cause hair to fall as well.
Many MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND MEDICATION can also cause hair loss.
You also lose more hair as you AGE OR DRASTICALLY LOSE WEIGHT.
HEAT STYLING
And I noticed, that one of the COVID-19 SIDE EFFECTS is hair loss.
How I’m helping stop my Hair Loss!
TOOK CARE OF MY DIET: A diet rich in protein helps in stopping hair fall. Our hair is made up of keratin which is a kind of protein. If protein is deficient in our bodies, it will be reserved for the vital organs and your hair and nails will not receive it. A diet rich in protein will make hair stronger.
INCREASE MY VITAMINS INTAKE: increasing my iron and niacin intake (vitamin B3) boosts blood flow to the scalp. Adding a biotin supplement into your routine will also kick-start new hair growth
GOT A HAIRCUT: getting a haircut regularly strengthens my ends. Regular cleanups will give you healthy hair and having clean, crisp ends give you the look of fuller hair!
Bye Bye hair loss!
Hello! fuller, thicker, healthier hair.
REGULAR HAIR CARE!!!! Wash your hair regularly, especially if you have an oily scalp. Too much sebum attracts dirt and dust that can clog the hair follicles. Keep your scalp clean. You can create your natural ingredients, or you can buy natural products to wash your hair.
Monat – products free from parabens, sulfates, and animal-derived ingredients. Shampoos, conditioners, and hair masks are some of the products I started using to help me with my regular hair care.
Some people create hair masks made of natural ingredients like ginseng, ginger, yogurt, onion juice, and banana. The truth is that as a Mom and busy entrepreneur I don’t have too much time in my hands to make my masks. So, finding something already made for me, that is natural and works, is ideal. These products are packed with protein and micronutrients that have been an aid to my hair loss.
Conclusion:
Since hair loss often signals more serious medical issues, your first instinct when experiencing it is to seek a doctor’s help, at the very least to rule out a serious hormonal disorder or nutritional deficiency. In most instances, once the underlying cause is treated, the hair loss will stop as well. However, a doctor’s focus will be your overall health (as it should be), so in the meanwhile, you can rely on complementary treatments that may also help.
Selecting the right natural hair loss remedy is not an enormous task. You can visit the following link as a guide. You can take a Monat quiz that will help you determine your hair needs and what kind of products are right for you.
